Martin Kohlstedt is among the outstanding composers, pianists and producers for instrumental music and electronica.
With his live performances as well as his studio recordings, the artist sets standards on how cutting-edge electronica production can intermingle with analog and acoustic approaches ranging from classical piano and ambient to field recordings and score design in an effortless way.
From his latest album ‘Feld’, the cut ‘MOD’ is the soundtrack of a collision, where a pulsating tension gives way to an electronic explosion. And at the same time the track is the antithesis of cold electronics: the track is alive, is a force of nature, like an ocean beating its waves against the shore.
Directed by Philip Zeller and Producer by Julia Groll, the video depicts this natural force while a human fights his way through waves, ultimately losing an impossible fight with nature.
