Matthias Tanzmann’s mega-label Moon Harbour Recordings needs little introduction. Following the success of their ‘Orbiter I’ various artists compilation comes ‘Orbiter II’ – a killer four track EP which consists of four deep house rollers from Super Flu, Nico Cabeza, Anek and Chris Wood & MEAT.
German duo Super Flu kick things off with their Moon Harbour debut track ‘Do Ex’. This track is made up from a seriously chunky bassline and 90s rave chords which sit wonderfully below the expertly chopped and sliced vocal sample which is taken from Crystal Waters’ stone cold classic ‘Gypsy Woman’. Rising Italian talent Nico Cabeza steps up for the second track on the release ‘Rocambolesco’ which is a stripped back roller, made up from a lovely wonky bassline, playful toms and an exciting pitched down vocal. This one will be wafting across all of club land’s finest terraces this summer.
British duo Anek come in hard for track three, entitled ‘Work My Body’. Packed with retro claps and a whirring bassline – this certified party track is destined to get you grooving, just as the title suggests. Rounding off the release we have long time collaborators Chris Wood and MEAT. Their track ‘That’s Fresh’ is sure to be doing the rounds across Ibiza and beyond this summer. Its rolling bassline, sharp hats and techy grooves are what make this one a winner.
