Art With Me Miami 2023 unfolded as a vibrant tapestry of sounds and emotions, meticulously orchestrated from December 8th to 10th at Virginia Key Beach Park. With a friendly and attentive staff, Art With Me was designed to guide attendees through the joyful chaos, ensuring a well-organized and welcoming environment where the magic of music and artistic expression was met.
As we entered the venue through the “A-Mazing” entrance, we were greeted with a sample of Mezcal to get the juices flowing and then we went to the Passion Flower stage to listen to M.O.N.R.O.E.’s brilliant set. This paved the way for a night of sonic exploration. We then made our way to the main stage where Overmono followed suit, a high energy, captivating set including a thrilling rendition of The Streets’ ‘Turn the Page.’
Then, the much-anticipated moment arrived – Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, aka Underworld, took the stage. Their performance was nothing short of an electronic masterpiece, starting with the captivating ‘Two Months Off’ (evoking memories of this year’s Movement Detroit) and finishing with timeless classics like ‘Rez / Cowgirl’ and ‘Born Slippy .NUXX’. The presentation also included a personal favorite in Jumbo and the live debut of ‘G-Town Euphoria.’ Karl Hyde’s electrifying presence, created a transcendent experience, transporting us to a parallel universe of joy and sonic liberation.
From our comfortable vantage point on the front row, Underworld’s music resonated deeply, blurring the lines between observer and participant. The infusion of old-school rave moments inspired a continuous dance, fostering a connection that transcended age and background.
To cap off the epic Underworld set, we savored a delightful performance by atish, leaving us inspired and fully satisfied. While our experience was limited to Friday night due to other commitments, we got word that Saturday and Sunday weren’t short of incredible. Art With Me Miami 2023 left an indelible mark, giving us an unforgettable pilgrimage to the heart of electronic music history, guided by the legendary Underworld.
