Yubik shares 10 tracks that inspire his studio work

Rising out of Germany’s electronic underground and making his microCastle debut is Yubik. Based in Munich and conceptualized in 2018, the Yubik project has achieved measurable success in a relatively short order. Initial releases courtesy of MoBlack and Stil Vor Talent set the course for well-received projects via Atlant, Oddity, and Radikon. Seemingly in constant evolution, the German artist’s ingenious scope has continued to grow and mature as 2021 reaches its second quarter, opening up endless creative avenues and furthering his boundless appeal. With his latest Atlant vehicle ‘The Veil’ getting the year underway in style and forthcoming music signed to Adana Twins’ TAU imprint, Yubik continues his explorative path with his microCastle debut ‘Riot Romance’.

Yubik effortlessly dodges any single genre with ‘Riot Romance’, opting for a crushingly catchy collection steeped in colorful musicality and thought-provoking atmospherics.

Today he shares 10 tracks that inspire his studio work.

1. Alex Smoke – All My Atoms

“What a start! I like unconventional drum aesthetics. This incredibly beautiful almost orchestral vocal touches me deeply and picks me up in a very special way”.

2. Black Merlin – Phase I

“I’m really into this industrial-sounding vibe, many would call it noise but for me it’s just beauty”.

3. Keope – Yenkl (Trikk Sol Remix)

“I don’t have to say much about trikk. I’m always fascinated by how he manages to stage a piece in such a way that it’s not
too much at any point and still sounds like a lot. The master of grooves and always an inspiration for me”.

4. VoX LoW – Something is Wrong

“I have often heard this track during the creative process of my last works. Correspondant is a label that I have been following for a long time and I am fascinated by the timeless selection of music”.

5. Agoria – Wish Me Luck (Mosaik Remix)

“I like dramaturgically highly enjoyable breaks, which maneuver the listener into a completely different dimension, which can then be brought back with the drop. A masterpiece that accompanies me for a while and I’m always buzzing around in my head”.

6. Carl Finlow – Descent

“Compact design, more light than glow. A stable basic loop and an excellent choice of Atmosphere with the right selection of sounds. Exactly what I work towards every time”.

7. Kris Davis – Through the Door

What a smart arrangement, the synthesis a unique dream, perfectly staged waves automation. A song that is thought through to the end. Kris Davis also accompanies me for a long time, always nice to hear this song.

8. Mufti – Another Day (Secret Factory´s Cosmic Remix)

“I can’t say much about this song except that I can’t believe it exists. To me, it sounds like it is not from this earth. When I heard the bass change for the first time… omg shock infatuation. Those who know the song know what I mean ;)”

9. Atelier, Switchdance – Stages (Switchdance Remix)

“A song with the voice of Atelier should not be missing in this list and thanks also Switchdance for the incredibly beautiful collaboration. Sometimes I like it when elements of a piece come so unexpectedly that I am so overwhelmed, simply hypnotized by the unpredictability. What Switchdance has done in this song in any case. Thanks for that”.

10. Innellea, Keven De Vries – Hoffnungsschimmer

“A magical piece to melt away, which Kevin and my brother in crime have fabricated there. My absolute favorite of the two and a song I can still learn a lot from”.
