After the hallucinate EP “Give Chance A Trance”, Moderna and Theus Mago return to Duro with a reissue of their first collaboration work, ‘Dog Is Calling You’, originally released in 2016 under Chloè’s label, Lumière Noire. The reissue includes the three original cuts and the remix of ‘Dog is calling you’ by Die Wilde Jagd, plus three new remixes by Mexico-based artists Mijo & Macaulay, Alinka of Twirl Records, and the Riotvan family Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht.
The EP begins with the classic “Asesino Sicótico”, a booming, dark, and insane cut. It’s a fusion of techno energy with a house music groove. It’s followed by “Dog Is Calling You”, a slow mix of melted bass, orbital and acidic sounds. To close the original versions is the fan favorite “Papa En Roy”, a mixture of classic techno with obsessive and repetitive bass lines, while Moderna’s vocals take us on a lunatic journey.
The remix by Mijo & Macaulay of “Asesino Sicótico” is a hypnotic, insistent, and powerful cut. The bass line runs over you while the voice gets lost among synthesizers, pads, and percussion. Alinka surprises us with her version of “Papa En Roy”, adding echoes of voices, a liquefying and electrifying bass, distorted percussion, and maniacal synthesizers.
Riotvan friends, Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht, give us their version of “Papa En Roy”, which is a forceful and exciting cut, creating bursts of energy perfect for the dance floor. To close the release is the version made by Die Wilde Jagd, a cut with a reverberated and liberating atmosphere, the drums and bass take you to the climax while the drums hold you firmly in a slow but continuous step.
“Moderna & Theus Mago – Dog Is Calling You” will be available on platforms starting from July 14th.
