Earning his education through a number of releases under various monikers working with underground pioneers such as Luke Brancaccio and Simon Noble (Breeder) among others, helped to secure high profile international DJs as fans early in his journey as a producer.
This includes luminaries such as Pete Tong, Annie Mac, Sasha, John Digweed, Eddie Temple Morris, and James Zabiela, as well as support by Radio 1, 6 Music, XFM, DJ Mag, and Mixmag.
Fauxplay has been quietly honing an exciting new sound, having spent several years building and refining a studio bunker, diving deep into cutting edge sound design with a hybrid analog set up, outboard processing, analog summing gear, and hardware synthesis from the likes of Bob Moog, Dave Smith, Korg, and Elektron. This rich palette of textures contributes to Fauxplay’s special sound, with tracks oozing sophistication and influences as diverse as Simple Minds, Larry Heard, Ron Trent, Lone, Derrick May & Four Tet.
Fauxplay is now set to skyrocket in popularity and catapult into today’s electronic scene in a big way to claim a position among the new breed of anointed underground electronic producers emerging in 2022. His first official release is an awe-inspiring EP spanning expansive hooky sounds, melancholy moods laid across deep, dreamy soundscapes coupled with uplifting melodies and driving drums, fusing a fine balance between hypnotic bliss and dance floor devastation! Its already climbed up the Beatport charts to reach No.1 on the coveted Beatport melodic house & techno release Charts and No.1 on the Global Release Chart.
This lead gem from the EP is a wonderful slab of smile-inducing goodness: ‘Rosie Touch The Sky’ that made its way Top Ten on the Beatport Hype charts. This is a subtly uplifting corker, with hazy vibes, chunky grooves, and beautiful chord progressions which could be described as reminiscent of Ben Bohmer and Jon Hopkins making a record for All Day I Dream. Hypnotizing synths interweave with atmospherics and warm, uplifting drums, and fizzing percussive layers to make this destined to soundtrack many hazy evenings and DJ sets around the world.
Already gaining DJ support and massive accolades from key tastemaker DJs including Sasha, Gabriel Ananda, Eelke Kleijn, Moscoman, 1979, Aly & Fila, Marsh, Jamie Stevens, Nick Warren, Ben Bohmer, Marcus James (Renaissance), Anthony Pappa, Gai Barone, Steve Parry, Luke Brancaccio, Speaking Minds, Paul Hazendonk, Lonya, Luke Garcia, Francesco Chiocci and Horse Meat Disco.
