Hailing from Buenos Aires, Dilo is known for his eclectic and exquisite taste in audio. His productions, crystalline-sounding experimentations, explore the possibilities of reduced techno and house in a band-format. As part of his very own smooth-sounding ice cream pop ensembles Monotax and Elephant Pixel, he’s done an incredibly good job to get electronic music lovers into live band formats again, as the songs he makes are, quite simply put, some of the most marvellous releases around.
In 2015, he joined forces with Jeannot, a young and promising talent from his home country Argentina. They met in Berlin and started making songs, also playing some live gigs together at Garbicz Festival and Kater Blau. Combining the organic elements from Indie which becomes prominent in their use of vocals and guitar elements, with the experimentation of IDM and electronica, utilizing synthesizers and drum machines as they would for clubbier productions, this album is both, a bold sophomore statement and a blush of innocence. Think bubblegum shoe-gazer goes post-party Berlin.
‘Out Of The Blur’ combines the musical language of the generation which has woken from its dream and reconnects with reality, which during these times becomes even more essential, with the delicate frail feeling of a first time contender who never went clubbing, and, despite its resonant grandeur, it might become the soundtrack of a new generation: those who fuses melancholy with hope and respire resilience.
The duo’s debut album contains 10 songs and will be released on Dilo’s label Igloo.
