CRUISE is a Moscow-based night that focuses on the 90s finest — old-school hip-hop, garage house, breakbeat hardcore, and jungle. Every once in a while local vinyl enthusiasts, artists, and radio hosts from Wax Ninja crew (Artem Xio, Foxxylove, and MB4) and Tiger Balms crew (Skye, Fine) gather nostalgic music lovers so that they can cruise through different BPMs and genres in a home-like atmosphere.
This release is the essence of CRUISE captured on tape: 15 tracks from the crème de la crème of the Russian underground scene. A full-scale journey into the sound of drum machines, analog synths, obscure samples, and whatnot; a heart-warming homage to music from New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Detroit, London, Manchester, Essex, Bristol, and different cities across Italy.
N-Tone, Maxi Skratch, and Luge are there with their beats and scratches; HI TOP and Osipenko Bus Stop (Ant To Be when he makes jungle) deliver some proper UKG; Keroz and DJ 0000 (DJ 1985’s alter ego) are going deep and melodic; Cream Soda, BRTS, Scruscru & S.Timoshenko and Heavy Blunt fill this tape with house bangers; Artem Xio, Mix Master Kutyma, FTRRLT alongside Amsterdam native Reactor Grits do breakbeat and drum’n’bass.
