Inspired by the unique energy of two of Japan’s most captivating cities, EGR returns with the release of another collaborative meeting of minds, as BiGz & Freedo Mosho link up to deliver Osaka, a sensual EP that is complimented by Fagcar’s take on remix duties.
Bidding their time on Osaka, BiGz & FM work their restrained magic as they burn over a dense, irresistible groove. Aided by expertly layered percussive motifs, the pair create a heady voyage where sparseness is the key before a tantalizing breakdown deconstruction,
cutting through the tension with a rousing third act.
On the b-side, BiGz & Freedo Mosho explore the intricacies that Okinawa has to offer, as they effortlessly ride a jet-black low end over a myriad of candy-laced effects and dubbed-out stabs for a most stimulating expedition. Submerged in old-school hues, the pair delivers a truly effervescent breakdown where they reprise that magic touch once again.
Wrapping up another arresting outing, it is Fagcar who takes on Osaka. Reimagining the piece under a different prism, Fagcar works over a stabbed bassine, as he treads through a thick atmospheric fog and nostalgic vocal sways before unleashing a truly arresting halt where bubbling sequences intertwine in a splendid genesis for a most memorable moment.
