Anthony Georges Patrice has carved a unique space in electronic music with his own, hypnotizing take, and his ‘The Boundless Power Of Empty’ EP is a testament to that.
Opening the transmission sequence, Patrice’s ‘Ayin’ unfurls on the back of delicate strobes that bind listeners into submission as its mechanical frame slowly plunges the piece downward, cutting through hazy atmospheres in a gorgeous, subaquatic freefall.
Following up, ‘I Am’ finds Patrice navigating a most introspective journey. Aided by minimalistic percussive patterns and shy synth swells, ‘I Am’ is a masterclass in tension as it burns without haste under tight strings and a reaffirmative vocal that guides listeners on a deep voyage inside.
Showcasing a more aggressive side to the seasoned producer, ‘Yesh’ wraps proceedings with relentless percussions that expertly contrast against a backdrop of mesmerizing swells and minimalist arrangements that decorate another sonic exploration into the uncharted territory before the last reverb-drenched hits dissipate into the ether.
