Grand Plans is a label set up by Scott Diaz who has released his music on many noteworthy labels such as Simma Black, Armada Deep and Defected plus a great number of others.
So far Scott has used Grand Plans to exclusively release his own music with each of the label’s first four releases featuring him as the original artist, so it comes as no surprise that the labels fifth release follows the same winning formula.
Called ‘Life On The Outside’, the new Grand Plans release is a whopping seven track EP with Scott having excelled himself on the production and composition of each cut. So it’s only to be expected that some of the people supporting the EP include Vanilla Ace, Claptone, Sam Divine and Tensnake.
Soulful and stylistic with just the right balance of old school flavour, the release blends influence from a broad spectrum and also shows that Scott is a master when it comes to the art of sampling. One of the tracks even features an expertly placed sample of ‘Amazing Grace’ sung in a gospel style.
Soulful house true to the classic Chicago style, this release is one you can stick on repeat without getting bored of its bouncy grooves rich with heart-warming tones.
Some highlights from the EP include ‘Heartbreaker’, ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘Happiness Is The Truth’ but with a selection this good, people will find it hard not to buy the whole release.
