Brighton-based DJ & producer Ross Harper has just shared the drop of ’The Dark Album’ Remixes Vol.2. The new VA compilation is already available to stream and purchase via Harper’s own City Wall Records.
Following in the footsteps of Harper’s ’The Dark Album’ Remixes Vol.1, which saw Roi, Cie, and Nickon Faith stepping up to deliver unique reinterpretations, ’The Dark Album’ Remixes Vol.2 now sees the UK artist tapping the musical talents of joeFarr, Gotshell, NOCOW, and Mar io.
“The original hook was created in a homemade soft synth I built in Reaktor by Native Instruments. The idea was to create a synthesizer whereby it was possible to actually draw music, this took some pretty complex maths combined with an ear for musicality,” explains joeFarr about the process behind his remix.
“From the first time I heard the original track it was clear that it was a unique kind of techno, thrilling and energetic like in the early days,” says Mar io about his remix of ‘Zeitgeber’.
