Tokyo-based techno artist, Risa Taniguchi, has unveiled her latest mix, EG TECHNO.132, now available for streaming on EG’s SoundCloud and Mixcloud platforms.
The mix boasts contributions from a diverse roster of talented producers, including Pangaea, Bailey Ibbs, JKS, Redlight, Skream, Temudo, and many more. Taniguchi’s own track is also featured, alongside works from renowned artists such as Fjaak, KiNK, and Perc.
Risa Taniguchi, has rapidly ascended to the forefront of the dark techno movement. Her signature sound, characterized by distorted textures, fizzing synths, and a quietly burning energy, has captivated audiences worldwide. Her sets are known for their unpredictable elements and curious motifs.
Taniguchi’s studio work features intricate drum programming, visceral kicks, and layered snares and hi-hats. Her tracks blend subtle vocal samples with acid bass, creating a raw aesthetic influenced by UK bass sounds.
Since 2018, Taniguchi has gained industry recognition, charting well and performing globally while maintaining a residency at Womb Tokyo. Despite pandemic challenges, she’s continued releasing on respected labels, with her ‘So Loud EP’ topping Beatport’s Techno chart.
She has also become a prominent industry voice, hosting a J-WAVE radio show and being selected as a ‘Beatport Next’ artist.
