Printworks is set to return to London’s nightlife

London’s iconic Printworks is set to make a comeback. The venue has secured approval for “cultural use,” sparking excitement among music lovers and industry insiders.

The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) hailed this decision as “an extremely positive moment” for London’s vibrant nightlife scene. The Canada Water location hosted its final electronic music events in spring 2023, featuring performances by acclaimed artists such as Black Coffee, Bicep, and Peggy Gou. Read our review here. 

The site’s future had been uncertain since 2021 when British Land planned to convert Printworks into offices. However, hope emerged when Broadwick Live, the venue’s promoter, discussed reopening possibilities post-redevelopment.

Uncertainty ended recently when authorities approved an application to transform the site into a “permanent cultural venue.” Although the exact form and scope of the new Printworks are yet to be determined, this decision represents a significant win for London’s cultural landscape.
