Producer and DJ Molac, known for his releases on labels such as All Day I Dream, Watergate, and Renaissance, has launched his own record label, Alquimia. The imprint’s debut release, a self-titled EP, is now available.
Alquimia is founded on the concept of “Electronic Music With Intention,” a philosophy that encapsulates the label’s mission: to deliver electronic music that not only energizes the dance floor but also embodies a spirit of exploration and creative innovation.
Molac envisions Alquimia as a platform for artistic freedom, blending dance floor rhythms with sonic experimentation to craft distinct soundscapes rooted in ambient, house, and progressive techno.
The EP’s opening track, ‘A Negative Space,’ takes listeners on a journey through dark, progressive soundscapes. Its intricate textures and hypnotic atmosphere set the tone for what to expect from Alquimia.
‘All Shades of Black’ follows, striking a delicate balance between electronic experimentation and danceability. The EP concludes with the title track ‘Alquimia,’ an ambient piece equally at home opening a marathon DJ set or soundtracking moments of quiet introspection.
The label’s visual art is as deliberate as its music. Release covers feature sacred geometry and cryptic messages, inviting interpretation and reflecting alchemical roots and pursuit of artistic evolution.
While Alquimia begins with Molac’s productions, it may feature other artists whose music is authentic and innovative.
