The Frenchman and colleague Scan X confirm their involvement with the platform.
Laurent Garnier and Scan X have claimed to be the founders of the anonymous platform Cod3 QR, which was launched back in 2018 with the purpose of anonymously releasing several artist EPs, and disclosing those involved two months later.
‘At a time when the package seems to be more important than the content, we felt it was important to make some kind of statement,’ Garnier told Resident Advisor. In line with the announcement, Cod3 QR dropped its 10th release, featuring music by Speaking Minds & Amarcord, Diego Infanzon, and solo tracks from Garnier and Scan-X.
‘We managed to keep the secret for four years,’ Garnier added. ‘That is already much longer than we expected. Due to the fact that we both had a track out on Cod3 QR 010, it seemed right for us to also reveal our identity as the bosses behind the label. The main policy of the platform will remain the same. Each artist will continue to publish under code names, for two months, for each future release. Remember: music comes first.’
Garnier also confirmed that the next Cod3 QR release will be a 12-track compilation. Past releases include music from Agents Of Time, Eduardo De La Calle, and CYRK, among others.
