English musician Jon Hopkins is back with ‘Piano Versions’, the sister EP of ‘Asleep Versions’ released in 2014. The recording consists of a collection of ambient piano versions.
The songs included in this release, originally by Roger & Brian Eno, Thom Yorke, Luke Abbott, and James Yorkston, are very different versions of their original format. In these performances, ‘Hopkins used his upright piano as the centerpiece of the EP, while recording the ambient elements that surrounded him,’ states the press release.
