Louden’s talent and dedication caught the attention of industry leaders like Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Archie Hamilton, and more, who recognized and supported his music. This affirmation from established figures in the scene fueled his determination to push boundaries and evolve his sound. At the core of Louden’s distinctive style is a seamless fusion of fresh grooves, solid basslines, and a blend of 90s and old-school influences with cutting-edge sonorities.
Recently, EG had the opportunity to catch up with Louden to learn more about his projects and future plans.
EG: Hi, Louden, thanks for taking the time to talk with Electronic Groove and allow us the privilege to conduct your first interview ever. For those who may be unfamiliar with you could you tell us a little about yourself, where you’re from, and what you do?
Louden: Hello guys! Thanks to you for having me first, it’s a pleasure to have a chat with you. I’m a DJ and producer born in the small town of Puglia, in the southern of Italy, but raised and based in Parma, in northern Italy.
EG: What are your roots in electronic music, when did you first begin to follow this sound and explore the club scene?
Louden: Well, I’ve been a dance music lover since I was a child. I remember I used to record on tapes all the music I loved that was played on the radio for listening and listening again when I was just 5-6. During the years this passion grew up to the point where I became a fan of the dance music scene in my teenage years, getting my hands on a DAW for the first time at the age of 16, and then started playing at some school parties. Later on, through friends, I approached the house and techno scene going to my first parties and festivals where I felt my soul belong from the very first time. I was literally addicted to that industry, I often used to go alone to parties too, it was at that point where I forged friendships with insiders and DJs until I later became a resident DJ of Insane, a local event in my hometown that’s well established in Italy.
EG: What is your approach in the studio, are there any particular tools, hardware, software or anything else that are you go to things to use when producing your music?
Louden: So basically, I start from drums adding small elements such as vocals, synths, or little effects, that’s the basis on which I want to identify the mood of the tracks I make. When the groove is set I start to add the key elements from the bass line to the main synths and lead vocals depending on the kind of track I’m working on. I always like to work on different kinds of stuff, so when I have to work on an EP I make sure to get a lead track and then other tracks that can sound different in terms of characteristics and vibes but with all of them that have a common feature, the energy! The same thing happens when I’m asked to remix, as happened recently, where I even take the opportunity to dive into different styles too. During my sets I mostly want to play my own music, so I try to create a variety of styles from peak moments to more happy and deep ones as well. Regarding the tools, I’m an “all in the box” producer, there’s no hardware among my gear at the moment except a TR-8 where I take elements from sometimes. So, my setup is actually composed of monitors, a midi controller, and a computer where I’ve got several virtual instruments on board, but I even like to work with some plugins that emulate the analogue and vintage sound.

EG: What do you take inspiration from in this industry, are there any particular artists that have driven you to pursue a career or any clubs, places, or anything else that has been influential for you?
Louden: I honestly can say I don’t really have any particular reference in terms of artists but there are many that I admire, and I add more and more to the list as the sound is continuously changing since I joined the industry almost 7 years ago, we can’t even label a genre sometimes. If I have to name one I can say Paul Kalkbrenner not in terms of genre, as it’s not my stuff, but for his way of working, always playing just his own music and for the emphasis he places on his performances. I started my journey listening to a very large range of music from different artists, from the smallest to the biggest, and from different styles, from house to garage, funky, hip-hop, deep, and more electronic as well, and what I do is to merge all the features that I like from these genres putting them into a unique sound that’s mine. With regards to places, I definitely can say I’m in love with all the ones where you can breathe our kind of music like Ibiza and most of the European capitals like London, Berlin, Amsterdam, and many others that when I visit, fill me with nice vibes and inspiration.
EG: Could you please share with us any key projects you have on the horizon any original EP’s you have coming up or any remixes?
Louden: So, the schedule for this year is completed and I have three other releases on the way. The next one is coming this month and it’s a remix that I made for the mighty Italian label Moan for two nice producers from Paris. Then I have 2 new EPs that will be out on two top labels from the UK which are some my favourites at the moment. I’m now planning the next year and I’ve got loads of new tracks ready, but I can’t reveal anything about that for now.
EG: What is your long-term goal as a producer and DJ, what are your plans for the foreseeable future, and are there any dreams you would like to actualize, places in the world you’d like to play, or any key clubs/festivals?
Louden: My first goal from day one when I started making music was to be able to make a living by sharing it and to continue doing so forever. There’s no better feeling for me than waking up early every morning, turning on my computer, and expressing myself, bringing out art and feelings through my music! When it comes to plans myself and my agency are working hard to consolidate my name into the scene as a producer first and then as a DJ as well. The aim, for now, is surely to start playing consistently and step by step to hopefully achieve playing at the best clubs and main stages in the industry in the long term.
EG: Lastly, could you please share with us something else in your life outside of electronic that you’re focusing on right now?
Louden: I’m actually investing all my time, mind, and energy into this project at the moment as it’s what I live and want to live for in the future. This is not a job for me now, but I treat it like it is. I always spend 6-8 hours a day working on it during the week. If I’m not making music I’ll be digging to discover new sounds, and artists and try to increase my knowledge about techniques, news, and anything concerning this world that never ceases to renew. The little spare time I have outside the music I spend staying healthy, working out sometimes, and eating well as health, discipline, and mindset are the key for my productivity. Furthermore, I dedicate it to my family and girlfriend whom I’m grateful to for supporting me every day in what I do.
