Cody Chase: “I love to offer a platform to those who share my same passion for dance music”

Cody Chase unleashes his radio show ‘The Chase Radio Show’.

The impressive DJ and music producer is ready to introduce his unmissable radio show to listeners all over the world. Currently syndicated on radios in Germany, Australia, and Portugal, to name some, this talented DJ unveils powerful episodes every Wednesday, showcasing his love for Techno and Dance music.

We sat down with him to talk about the show, what inspired him to start this new project, and what he’d like to achieve with ‘The Chase Radio Show’.

EG: Hey Cody Chase! Good to have you on EG. How are you?

Cody Chase: I’m doing fantastic, it’s a good day to be alive!

EG: You are launching your new weekly show ‘The Chase Radio Show’, can you tell us what inspired you to start your own radio show?

Cody Chase: I promised myself at the start of the year to produce a new mix every week, without repeating any tracks (aside from my own productions). Having a new weekly radio mix gives my fans a place to regularly check in to hear Cody Chase music. Better still, since the radio show is syndicated and more stations are coming on board every week, it also gives me an opportunity to show new listeners my sound and style and make them Chasers too.

EG: What genres of music can listeners expect on the show?

Cody Chase: I think I may have made this up, but the term “Train Techno” keeps coming to mind. The Chase is mainly a techno and tech-house show. With “Train Techno”, I like to have you, the listener, barreling down the tracks. Then the beat stops, a breakdown begins, and for a brief few moments, we all relax at the station, catching our breath and grooving out. With air back in our lungs, I once again build the tension, letting riders know it’s time to get back on the train. Pressure rises, the train leaves the station, and boom the drop hits. We all get back into the groove as we again barrel down the tracks, chasing bass on The Chase.

I am a big Dance music fan all around, and also have a ton of love for house, deep house, progressive house & bass house. Occasionally, tracks from those genres sneak their way into my sets every now and then.

EG: What would you say sets ‘The Chase Radio Show’ apart from other radio shows on the airwaves?

Cody Chase: Not to hit the same note twice, but Chaser’s will never hear the same track twice on ‘The Chase’, unless it’s a production of yours truly. I made myself a promise at the beginning of the year to do something I’ve never done before and be forced to consistently find heat, week after week after week. I’m excited to go all the way down the rabbit hole and see what’s on the other side.

EG: What do you usually look for in a track to add it to an episode of ‘The Chase Radio Show’?

Cody Chase: The bigger the bassline the better. I always try and focus my sound on tracks with sick drops and bass lines. I’m also appreciative of lyrics with deep and profound meaning and beautiful vocal tones. If a track has one or more of those that blow my mind and make my ears hard, it passes my vibe check.

EG: Would you like to have some special guests on the show? If so, who would it be and why?

Cody Chase: The best techno I have ever heard comes from sets by Carl Cox, Adam Bayer, Cirez D, and Jamie Jones at Ultra Miami. My favorite Friday and Saturday nights of the year are jamming to those guys in the Megastructure. I get a ton of inspiration from John Summit. My first introduction to House music came from Benny Benassi’s ‘Hypnotica’. But really, I’d love to offer a platform to those who share my same passion for Dance music.

EG: What would you like to achieve with the show?

Cody Chase: I’m just out here chasin’ my dreams. I would like to show the world my DJing prowess. You won’t ever hear me play something with just 1 leveler up. My sets stay in a constant state of mix, often times playing on 3 or 4 decks at once. I would also love to use my radio show as a platform to support new and upcoming producers and artists.

So, if you’re a producer bringing that Techno and Tech House heat, send your music to music@djcodychase.com. If you make me fall in love with it, I will play it!

EG: Can you describe ‘The Chase Radio Show’ to someone who hasn’t listened to it yet?

Cody Chase: Someone from my team jokingly said, “One hour of upbeat music that makes you wanna slap your grandma.” While I don’t suggest slapping your grandma, you will want to turn up the volume and turn up the bass to take a ride on the Techno train, as we Chase Bass. Join me as I take you on a weekly journey through deep grooves and epic drops, as I transform sound while mixing multiple tracks.

EG: Aside from working on your show, what other things do you have going on at the moment?

Cody Chase: I have a brand-new EP called ‘They Don’t Know’ that was recently released! To keep up with a release cycle I’ve been spending a ton of time in the studio cooking up new beats. From my studio time in 2022 and 2023, you will continue to see a plethora of new releases from me all year! On top of that, my wife is 5 months pregnant and we are expecting our first child, a son, in July. So, we have been prepping the house for a newborn! Lastly, I am also an entrepreneur and own a few businesses that require some time.

EG: Congratulations! That’s great news! Finally, where can we listen to ‘The Chase Radio Show’?

Cody Chase: You can hear ‘The Chase’ on a bunch of radio stations: Starter FM in Australia, Gravy FM in the States, Cuebase in Germany, Hits Dance in Portugal, Outreach Dance in the UK, and Lumix FM in Russia.

I am beyond honored to be able to host a show alongside some other legends on the stations like Adam Beyer, Nicole Maudaber, Chris Liebing, Oliver Helden, Afrojack, Nicky Romero, and Above & Beyond (along with a bunch of other legends).
