The band had shared a teaser a few weeks back.
Animated band Gorillaz have linked up with acclaimed bassist Thundercat for a brand new collaboration in ‘Cracker Island’, while also advertising a new concept called ‘The Last Cult’, which according to creators Damon Albarn & Jamie Hewlett, features bassist Murdoc Niccals as the “self-appointed Great Leader”.
In a statement by the fictional outfit, the band reveals that they have relocated to Silverlake, California, and discovered that “the one truth to fix the world is to invite fans to join ‘The Last Cult’”.
“It’s nice to be back, I’m well into our new tune, it brings back weird and scary memories of stuff that hasn’t happened yet,” says Gorillaz’s frontman, 2D.
