Venezuelan DJ & producer Federico Blank has just shared the release of ‘Pikete’, his latest EP. The new two-tracker is already available to stream and purchase across all major digital platforms via his own imprint, Sons Of A Rave.
Blank’s new ‘Pikete’ EP features two original cuts in ‘Techno Birds’ and ‘Instagrami’, which showcase the producer’s characteristic Rominimal sound with an infectious Caribbean twist, lead by heavy low ends; skittish, glitched percussions; and delectable acid lines.
‘The major focus was generating the parts in hardware and then recording a multi-channel jam in Ableton. One of those jams had been hanging on my HD for a while, and I decided to tweak it, to the point where I became fascinated with it since I had so much fun doing it; that track became ‘Techno Birds’. ‘Instagrami’ is the result of a similar technique to that which produced the first jam. Minimal and techno have always got me to the core, and I believe both tracks encapsulate that emotion, but I was also inspired by the digital empowerment of iconic Caribbean ladies’, Blank explained about the drop of ‘Pikete’.
