EG AFTER.129 Israel Sunshine ARTISANO

Talking about Israel Sunshine goes beyond the music producer and DJ that has made him expose his music and talent around the world for the last 20 years, it can also be said that he is a precursor and fundamental part of the generation that helped the culture of electronic music to grow up in his country during the 90s. Originally from Venezuela, Israel Sunshine has been heavily influenced by his explorations through Europe over the last two decades since 2000 when he visited Ibiza for the first time. Since that moment he has been developing his own sound from his base in Barcelona, Spain, capturing and publishing on the most prominent labels with an approximate of more than 150 references between originals, remixes, LP’s and compilations. Also known for his work as part of the former duo Fur Coat, he is a successful DJ and constantly rotating musician.

Both individually and as part of the duo, he has racked up releases on industry-leading labels such as Sasha’s LNOE, Berlin’s distinguished Watergate Records, Bpitch Control, Get Physical, Renaissance, Hot Creations, Nicole Moudaber’s Mood, Redimension, and Systematic, just to name a few, however the spark of the beginning was none other than the founder of the legendary Crosstown Rebels label, Damian Lazarus, who unearthed it and quickly formed and released his debut EP ‘Space Ballad’, hence a consecutive succession of hits in which highlighting songs like ‘You and I’ with the voice of Cari Golden in 2012, ‘U-Turn’ released in 2014, and the long-lasting ‘There’s No Time’ on Jamie Jones Hot Creation, really catapulted him to notoriety.

Throughout the Fur Coat journey, these artists amassed a solid list of accolades, which is why they were quickly chosen to contribute to the infamous Balance Compilation Mix series, as well as the highly regarded Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 show, and they were rewarded for all his efforts by appearing for 3 consecutive years on the select list of the Best 100 DJs in the world published by the specialized magazine Resident Advisor. Festivals such as Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Lighting in a Bottle, Balaton Sound in Hungary, Audioriver in Poland, Loveland in Holland, Day Zero in Mexico, Extrema Outdoor in Belgium, WeareFestvl in London among others have witnessed their talent as well as their constant presentations in renowned clubs such as Space Miami, fabric London, Watergate Berlin, Spybar Chicago, Warung Club Brazil, Crobar Buenos Aires, Stereo Montreal, Revolver Australia, and Don’t Sit on the Furniture in Miami. They were even part of the poster for the failed Fyre Festival in the Bahamas, known after the documentary on Netflix.

Synonymous with a flourishing career, Israel Sunshine’s music has earned the respect of some of the biggest names in the electronic scene and has generated collaboration requests from artists such as Stephan Bodzin, Sasha, Oliver Huntemmann, WhoMadeWho, Sailor and I, and his inclusion in the fabric compilation of Tale of Us.

Always looking forward and aiming to continue innovating, in 2017 they co-founded his own record label Oddity Records, which represented an opportunity for artists to have control over the release of their own music while at the same time giving like-minded artists a platform to showcase their work. This is how they managed to bring together countless new talents as well as established artists such as Slam, Radio Slave, Locked Groove among others under one roof.

Today, currently based in Miami, Israel decided to make his way towards the exploration of a solo sound, leaving behind his entire former duo project and where he shows a more mature side of the artist inspired by all the experiences lived in his extensive career to be able to reconnect with his roots. and his audience. This is where ARTISANO was born, his own project focused on the subtlety of electronic music and its variants and respect for the public to present a fully sonorous experience with elegant, contagious beats and unmatched technique.
