Founded by Safak Oz Kutle, Oceanvs Orientalis is a formation that aims to challenge the aesthetic perception in electronic music. It may feature itself mostly as a one-man action and sometimes as a band tour de force. It blends itself with the archaeologic tunes of humankind’s cumulative musical history and, in this very context, believes that “everything comes from the east.”
He uses electronic music to carry the old vibes he grew up with to the dance floor, transforming irregular local rhythms into 4/4 electronic beats. Since 2011 he has been producing both live performances and DJ sets.
In recent years, Oceanvs Orientalis has evolved, shifting away from the now ubiquitous sound he helped pioneer, exploring new sonic tapestries that are timeless and deeply embedded into the fabric of contemporary electronic music.
