‘It’s all House and Techno and I’m not interested in fads’. These words from Darius Syrossian not only define his style and sound, but also represent the principles by which he has successfully made his name as a DJ, Producer, label boss and radio host on a global scale.
This year Darius will be a weekly resident for DO NOT SLEEP’s residency at Space Ibiza, as well as recording an Essential Mix for Radio 1 and all the while continuing a busy international touring schedule.
A true workaholic, Darius Syrossian has been living, breathing, playing and producing house music for all of his adult life. Having worked 14 years in a record shop, he has a grass-roots knowledge and understanding that has helped him rise to the very top of the global pile. Having played gigs at every major club and festival in every continent, he has also produced & released music on a host of the biggest record labels out there, with his most recent work in 2016 appearing on taste-making labels such as Mobilee sister label Leena, Material, Circus and Swiss label Definition:Music. He’s also released the huge track ‘Funkflex’ on the vinyl-only label Rimming Records as an unnamed artist and lets not forget his productions on the Do Not Sleep label, which is releasing music on both vinyl & digital formats.
Passionate and refreshingly outspoken, Darius Syrossian makes and plays music that reflects his unique personality. He’s helped establish mainstay Ibiza parties such as Viva Warriors and Tribal Sessions through his influential residencies and was awarded a DJ Mag Best of British award for his efforts. 2015 saw Darius installed as the main resident for DO NOT SLEEP, a party that took Ibiza by storm last summer. DO NOT SLEEP is now also a record label & a worldwide monthly radio show which Darius heads up the A&R and presenting for.
For Darius, all of his work- the Radio show, the Space residency, touring the world DJing, his producing & remixing- it all embraces his philosophy to always focus on the music, always guard the principles of house and techno, and to always remain true. In his own words:
“I’m into the scene because I LOVE THE MUSIC, not like a lot of people who are into the music because they LOVE THE SCENE. It’s only about the music for me, and that’s all that matters!”
