DJ International Records is back

A new stage begins for the well-known house label.

Record label DJ International Records returns on January 15th with the release of Joe Smooth’s classic ‘Promised Land’, which has been re-recorded for 2021 by original vocalist Anthony Thomas.

Regarded as a key label that gave birth to house music in Chicago in the late 80s and born out of the black and LGBTQ music scene in the US, the brand is still known for leaving the most influential footprints of its time.

DJ International has been credited with releasing the first house music long-player in 1986, ‘The House Sound Of Chicago’, and has a road in the same city that bears the name of ‘Honorary DJ International Way’.

The brand is known for its outstanding discography, which includes material from DJs such as Frankie Knuckles, Fingers Inc, Ron Hardy, Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley, Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk, and Marshall Jefferson. More than three decades later, it is still relevant, and its return in 2021 will cement that notion.
