DJ Awards makes its return to Ibiza: 2024 winners announced

Winners included Black Coffee, Sam Divine, Vintage Culture, Armin van Buuren, Sven Väth, Chase & Status, WhoMadeWho, CamelPhat, Fisher, Miss Monique, Róisín Murphy, among others.

The DJ Awards returned to Ibiza on October 2nd, 2024, after a four-year break. Known as the “Oscars of Dance Music,” this event honored top electronic music talent, revitalizing the island’s renowned nightlife scene.

The iconic Chinois venue hosted the ceremony, balancing nostalgia and innovation. BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar and Katie Knight co-hosted, their energy and insight enhancing the event, highlighting the electronic music scene’s diversity and dynamism. Veterans and newcomers mingled with fans, united by their passion for dance music.

The DJ Awards celebrated excellence across a broad spectrum of electronic music genres. Notable winners included Black Coffee (Afro), Sam Divine (House), Vintage Culture (Tech House), Armin van Buuren (Trance), Sven Väth (Techno), Chase & Status (Drum and Bass), WhoMadeWho (Organic House), and CamelPhat (Progressive House). Fisher claimed the coveted ‘International DJ of the Year’ Award, while Miss Monique secured the ‘Breakthrough Artist’ title. Róisín Murphy received honors for her Live Act performances.

The ceremony also recognized the behind-the-scenes contributors in dance music. A panel of industry experts selected winners for special categories: Luciano (Ibiza Icon Award), David Guetta’s events (Best Ibiza Party), Javier Anadón (Lifetime Achievement Award), and Adam Port and Stryv’s ‘Move’ featuring Malachiii (Ibiza Track of the Summer). Other notable accolades included the What’s Hot Global Award (Keinemusik), Global Festival (Defected Croatia), Play It Back Award (Michael Bibi’s One Life Campaign), and Eye on… USA award (Gospel New York).

Following the main ceremony, the afterparty kicked off with sets from Luciano, Cristoph, Mathew Jonson, Ben Sterling, and Manu Gonzalez, keeping the celebration going well into the night.

Since its inception in 1998, the DJ Awards have been a cornerstone of electronic music. Under new ownership and with fresh investment, the 2024 edition marked a reinvention of the event.
