Brian Cid talks about his new masterclass series

A producer’s producer, Brooklyn local Brian Cid has made a name for himself over the past two decades as a studio engineer, DJ and musician like very few out there. His original productions have found a home in some of the biggest labels in the electronic music realm, like Lost & Found, Fabric, and Balance. Now, with his own imprint Endangered running like a well-oiled machine, and touring on hold due to the pandemic, Brian is enjoying his time behind the mixing board and looking forward to sharing his knowledge from his Quantum Mastering studio.

With an incoming masterclass series starting this September, we sit down with Brian Cid to learn more about what his students can expect in the classroom.

Electronic Groove: Hi Brian! It’s a pleasure to have you with us once more. Diving right into it…¿What services do you offer at Quantum Mastering? ¿For how long have you been working in this field?

Brian Cid: Thanks for your questions! Always great to be back – Quantum Mastering is my sound engineering company that offers two main services: Mixing & Mastering for all genres specializing in Electronic music; and Production Masterclass, where I teach my creative techniques and methods to music and beyond. We’ve been operating since 2009 in New York  City. We’ve worked with dozens of labels and artists of all kinds, major and underground. It’s truly a big passion of mine.

As far as teaching, aside from teaching many classes via streaming, in the past, I’ve been invited to offer workshops in many music schools around the world including in the US, India, Ecuador, and Argentina. It’s also something I truly enjoy as well.

Electronic Groove: ¿What can someone expect from working with you?

Brian Cid: My 20 plus years of professional experience with sound and music allows me to understand very clearly what the artist is looking for and how to take it to the top level. My job is to expand on your vision. Enhance what you’ve created. Give it the final polish it needs so it can shine as it should. I make sure to use my strong musical background on any project I work on.

Electronic Groove: ¿How do you feel about sharing knowledge? ¿What is the end-goal for you when teaching?

Brian Cid: Beyond a pleasure, it’s my duty to teach. It’s my duty to help you rise. To empower you, to guide you. This is my way of connecting with my life purpose and giving back to the world what’s been given to me. I teach without holding back because I do not believe in competition, I believe that there is space for everybody to shine and that there is always space to grow. I believe in excelling yourself and becoming better than yesterday. The beauty of life relies on the journey and the journey depends on your growth.

I invite you to come and check out our Masterclass. For our Session II, we are offering a free class – We have made the classes very affordable, to allow access to everybody around the world – Understand that in order to grow, you must invest in yourself. Please feel free to reach out.
