The duo consisting of Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson, better known as Bicep, will kick off the year 2021 with a new album entitled ‘Isles’. The LP, which will be available in January, is influenced by growing up on an island: Northern Ireland.
The record is also inspired by the sounds the duo heard after moving to London, from Hindi vocals to ‘snippets of Bulgarian choruses drifting off the passing cars’. For example, their new single ‘Apricots’ features Malawian singers and a Bulgarian vocal company. Additionally, the remainder of the album contains collaborations with British artist Clara La San and Canadian cellist and composer Julia Kent.
