Aphex Twin has announced the upcoming release of his latest EP,‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760’. The DJ and producer behind the project, Richard D. James, has shared the single that gives part of the title to the album as a preview.
Fragments of the song were previously shared in Los Angeles and London through posters with QR codes. These codes led to an augmented reality application that included animations of the EP created by Weirdcore. A similar approach was taken at the Sónar festival in Barcelona, where James wrote on his project’s official Twitter account, “Look for something special in the Sónar+D project area and at the merchandise stand” before performing. The posters were also present at the festival.
‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f/in Room F760’ will consist of four tracks: ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21f’, ‘Zin2 test5’, ‘In a Room7 F760’, and ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 22 [Parallax Mix]’
