Guy Mac shares his favorite tracks on rotation

An artist making continuous strides in the house and techno space, London-based DJ/Producer Guy Mac is an exponential contender for a lot of ‘ones to watch in 2022’ shortlists. Inspired by leading electronic names like Marco Carola, Deetron, Jamie Jones, Maya Jane Coles, Kerri Chandler, Burnski, and more, Guy’s musical inclination lends itself to the region of omniscient appreciation of all things groovy, and his work has found a home on some of the industry’s best-known labels such as Hot Creations, Sola Nauts, Under No Illusion, Armada Subjekt, Deeperfect and more – garnering frequent support from a slew of the biggest names in the business.

Currently, Guy Mac is behind his much-anticipated Hot Creations debut with the release of his ‘Sonic Boom’ EP. To celebrate the release, the artist shares 10 of his favorite tracks on rotation.

01. Seb Zito – Lift Me Up – Seven Dial Records

‘This is a monster from Seb. I heard Joseph Capriati play it in his marathon set at Bret Amsterdam last October, it went off the bassline on this is huge.’

02. Mason Collective – External Instrument (Yaya Remix) – Tamango Records

‘I love the groove on this, Yaya smashed the remix. It’s got a proper thumping low end which sounds massive on a big sound system.’

03. DJ Sneak, Tuccillo – High – Unblock Records

‘The constant flow of the groove in this is awesome, the percussion, bassline, and synthesizers play cleverly off each other, making it impossible for you not to move.’

04. Tommy Vicari Jnr – Look In Your Eyes (Politics Of Dancing & Djebali Remix) – Politics Of Dancing Records

‘A killer soulful vocal with a stripped back old school vibe, deadly combination! I recently picked up the vinyl for this one which sounds quality.’

05. Ki.Mi. – System (Dan Baartz Remix) – Kashatskikh

‘A really cool cut here, loving the bassline, glitchy spaced out effects and atmospheric samples.’

06. Cinthie – Ibiza Rave Tune 3000 – Ava Records

‘Cinthie is such a consistent producer and has a real signature classy sound. This latest release has an amazing vibe with a great melody and groove.’

07. Tripmastaz – R U Scared – Cecille Records

‘I’ve always loved Tripmastaz productions, this old Cecille records release still bangs today. There a quite a few tracks being released and played out at the moment which have a nod to speed garage bass sounds and this has a flavour of that.’

08. Luca Donzelli – Rebels of 2000 – Rawsome Deep

‘Party starter vibes, pure feel-good high energy house from Luca Donzelli – love it.’

09. Salomé Le Chat & The Mekanism – Hot Mess – Bambossa Recordings

‘Big fan of the unique switch between the sick beat and keys/rap section, out on Harry Romero’s Bambossa label.’

10. DJ Simi – Baby Movin’ – Mood Funk Records

‘A quality track, if you close your eyes and listen you can imagine standing on the Amnesia Terrace hearing this. Which could be a reality soon now clubs are re-opening for this season!’
