Cosmic Boys are back on their label Legend and this time the French duo of techno titans have collaborated with AKKI (DE) on a track called “Dark Places”.
Already proving popular with techno fans across the world, Dark Places is currently Beatport’s No.2 top-selling techno track. This adds to the Cosmic Boys already an impressive record for topping sales charts.
DJs already supporting the track include other scene-leading artists ranging from Monika Kruse to Spektre, and its release date comes perfectly timed, as dance floors across the world are starting to open again.
The pandemic has hit the music industry hard, but Cosmic Boys are one of the artists who have found a way to push forward and keep building their fan base despite the fact that clubs are closed. Their release schedule has been almost non-stop for the last year and during the pandemic, they also released a No.1 setting track that they made in collaboration with UMEK.
AKKI (DE) is relatively new on the scene, but has previously featured on Legend along with other imprints including Spartaque’s Codex. He is an exciting German artist who seems to have a big future ahead of him, so no doubt this won’t be the last time we hear of him and his pounding style of techno.
‘Dark Places’ is everything fans of the Cosmic Boys have come to expect, it’s a fusion of uplifting synths and thumping percussion that’s brought to life with a cinematic vocal and submerged in a dark atmosphere. There is never a dull moment in its onslaught of euphoric energy.
