LA-based producer 35mm makes Popgang Records debut with nostalgic, blog house-inspired Huh Uh EP.
Features three original tracks exhibiting 35mm’s niche production style shaped by his experience as a mixing engineer
“’The Huh Uh’ EP feels like a natural move from all the previous music I’ve put out up to this point,” – 35mm explains. “Right now, I’m much more interested in returning to the oddball music that inspired me to make electronic music in the first place and this EP has been a way for me to move in that direction without seeming like an incredibly hard right turn. It’s a fun and eccentric release, and I hope my fans and new listeners enjoy it as much as I like making it.”
LA-based producer 35mm lands on Popgang Records for his fifth EP release of the year, ‘Huh Uh’. Having already released on Dirtybird, House of Hustle and My Techno Weighs a Ton, 35mm’s Popgang debut features three original tracks pulling influences from Ed Banger and the blog house era of dance music.
His sample-heavy approach sleeves the entirety of the EP, with 35mm weaving in notes of acid house and tech funk into “U N Me.” From beginning to end, Huh Uh masters 35mm’s novel MO that gets its reach from the nostalgic years when electro house titans began to shape a new age of dance music.
