MYR label boss Goeran Meyer opens up his latest EP with the immediately warm and infectious ‘The Key’ featuring the talented D-Lee. The chunky bass and drums draw you in, and breathy vocal sounds and catchy synth hooks all keep you locked as the bubbling, dub infused groove playfully unfolds. There is just as much character in the following track ‘Three Days’, another charming house track with an effervescing groove that is stylishly off-kilter while melodic stabs, bright pads and neon keys all colour in the airwaves in fine fashion.
On remix duties we have MYR resident favourites bringing in their unique and sultry takes on the EP. Drenched in dub Ivo Deutschmann’s dub techno styled remix brings out the darkness for the early mornings and sweaty summer nights. Nesker’s emotional take on the remix reminds us why his organic techno roots bring true warmth to his style of music truly bringing the EP full circle. Juli Lee struts her infamous deep house punch with her smooth transitions and dance floor ready energy. Kaiser Waldon’s dreamy nostalgia drips and oozes through his remix bringing in tones of classic Chicago styled house underpinned with evolving grooves.
