The young but already well regarded ODTech label serves up another winning EP from London talent ODCEE.
ODCEE started out in the world of jungle and drum & bass but moved into the house realm with immediate success. He has a rare knack for laying down killer grooves and has landed on vital outlets like Roush, CUFF and Repopulate Mars. All of this has generated quite the buzz, and now the artist builds on that once more.
He opens up with the title track ‘DuttyVibe‘, which does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s built on raw and rock-solid kicks and has a darkened vocal adding extra menace over the top of the chattering percussion. Keeping up the razor-sharp vibes is ‘Public Agent,‘ a more twisted and turbocharged tech cut with winding vocals and squelch bass. The track is detailed with plenty of fills and gritty details that mean the dance floor cannot help but take note and get locked in.
Then comes the superb ‘G-Spot’, which has a mechanical and grinding groove underneath spinning hi-hats and warped synths. It’s an absolute head melter with trademark big bass that is full of warmth and weight. Last of all, essential ‘K-Nine‘ is seven minutes of silky drum programming with whirring machine sounds, well-swung bass and vocal snippets all working you into a sweaty state.
These are standout tracks primed and ready to make their indelible mark on house loving dance floors.
ODCEE ‘DuttyVibe’ EP is out on ODTech Records on 11th June 2021.
