Moby revisits his classics with new orchestral arrangements

Featuring Skylar Gray, Gregory Porter, Mark Lanegan, and more.

Moby has announced his new album ‘Reprise’. The record will be published on May 28th via Deutsche Grammophon, and sees the American artist reprise some of the most iconic productions of his career in collaboration with the Budapest Art Orchestra.

For this new outing, Moby is joined by a constellation of guests from across the musical spectrum, including Alice Skye, Amythyst Kiah, Apollo Jane, Darlingside, Deitrick Haddon, Gregory Porter, Jim James, Kris Kristofferson, Luna Li, Mark Lanegan, Mindy Jones, Nataly Dawn, Skylar Gray, and Víkingur Ólafsson.

‘I long for the simplicity and vulnerability that you can achieve with acoustic or classical music,’ said the artist himself in the press release for ‘Reprise’, which includes his greatest hits such as ‘Porcelain’, ‘Go’, ‘Extreme Ways’, ‘Natural Blues’ and ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad ?’.

‘Some of the new versions are more sober and slower, while others exploit the great potential that an orchestra can offer. After a three-decade run, ‘Reprise’ is an opportunity to reflect on how art can adapt with the passage of time to different environments and contexts,’ can be read in the press release.

Moby’s ‘Reprise’ will be available on May, 28th. Listen to ‘Porcelain – Reprise Version’ below.
