SOPHIE, the Grammy-nominated avant-garde DJ and Producer, has died after an accident in the Greek capital of Athens. UK-based label Transgressive released a statement about the death of the musician:
“Tragically our beautiful Sophie passed away this morning after a terrible accident. True to her spirituality she had climbed up to watch the full moon and accidentally slipped and fell. She will always be here with us. The family thanks everyone for their love and support and request privacy at this devastating time.”
The Glasgow-born musician started releasing music in 2013 innovating pop music and worked with other artists like Vince Staples, Charli XCX, and Madonna, among others.
