The musicians seek to disseminate information to reduce the carbon footprint of live concerts.
Massive Attack has once again shown their commitment to the environment through a new short film. In 2019, the group commissioned the Tyndall Center For Climate Change Research to conduct a study on the live music industry and its influence on climate change. From that project, a documentary video emerged that was going to be screened at an event, but due to the pandemic the British outfit shared it via streaming.
‘In addition to the havoc that the pandemic causes in our lives, there is also the opportunity within that forced pause to reflect and change’, says Robert Del Naja. ‘We realized that our industry couldn’t or didn’t want to move fast enough for live music to play its part in rapid decarbonization, so we chose to engineer that change ourselves to bring together the identities and circumstances to drive it forward. and show that it is possible’.
