Greg Cohen and Kris Vanderhayeden have just released their first recording as Studio 54 under the newly launched record label, Studio 54 Music. Featuring the talents of vocalist Gabi Sklar, ‘Heart To The Ocean’ is a part of ‘Night Magic Volume I’, a 4-tracker compilation that reimagines some of Studio 54’s classic house cuts by some of NY finest modern disco scene players.
‘Heart To The Ocean’ is an homage to the New York disco nights of yesteryear, fresh, and brimming with life. The original cut was produced by Greg Cohen, who has worked with icons like Nile Rogers and members of Earth Wind & Fire; mixed by Belgian pioneer Kris Vanderhayeden (Janet Jackson, Blondie); and features the youthful soul that is Long Island rising star Gabi Sklar on vocals.
The label Studio 54 Music plans to present itself as a lifestyle brand, with a new website, merchandise, and has announced the opening of their ‘Studio 54 Night Magic’ exhibition, held at Brooklyn Museum.
