New Order announces limited edition of ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’

The box will contain unpublished material from the 1983 album sessions.

New Order announced the release of their studio album collection ‘Power, Corruption & Lies Definitive Edition’. The bundle includes an LP, two CDs, two DVDs, and a book, as well as introducing for the first time the remastered LP and CD album of the original analog tape masters.

The bonus CD contains unpublished sessions from the New Order rehearsal rooms in Manchester and the 1982 John Peel session for the BBC. The DVDs show the band’s live shows during 1982 and 1983 at The Hacienda and Kilkenny, 1984’s Play at Home Channel television documentary, and other live and television performances. Finally, the collection brings a 48-page hardcover book of unpublished photos and original text compiled by Warren Jackson completes the limited-edition box designed by Peter Saville.

The package will be accompanied by individual releases of the 4 12″ vinyl singles from 1983 and 1984 that did not appear on the original LP, beginning with the all-time best-sellers ‘Blue Monday’, followed by ‘Confusion’, ‘Thieves Like Us’, and ‘Murder’.

‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ was recorded in 1982 at Britannia Row Studios, London, and produced by New Order. See below what this new edition contains, which will be available from October 2nd.
