This will be his first solo release since his last album ‘Krieg und Frieden’.
Apparat returns in 2019 with his first LP in six years. The ten-track release is titled ‘LP5’.
The news comes after his band Moderat – a joint project between him and the German duo Modeselektor – announced they would be taking an indefinite break.
“I was only able to make the record this way because Moderat exists”, he said. “Having a huge stage with Moderat gave me a setting for grand gestures and meant I could unburden Apparat from these aspirations”, Ring explains. “I don’t have to write big pop hymns here; I can just immerse myself in the details and the structures.”
Apparat’s new album will be published on March 22th via Mute Records. Listen below to the first single ‘Dawan’.
