Manchester’s The Warehouse Project has unveiled its latest venture, WHP Records, in collaboration with the independent label group Disorder. For its debut release, the imprint has signed Leeds-based DJ and producer Bakey. His first album under the new label includes the track ‘Wouldn’t Believe,’ which is already available to stream and download.

Richard McGinnis and Sam Kandel, founders of The Warehouse Project, shared their enthusiasm: “Since WHP began in 2006, our mission has been to collaborate with artists in significant and impactful ways, creating unforgettable dancefloor moments. The establishment of WHP Records, alongside our partnership with Disorder, opens up new avenues for us to achieve this. Bakey’s album project is the perfect starting point.”

David Dollimore, co-founder of Disorder Records, highlighted that WHP Records will nurture global emerging talent, creating a dynamic ecosystem of live performances and recordings to build fanbases. He emphasized the unmatched pedigree of this partnership and expressed excitement about the future for independent record labels.

Since its launch in 2006, The Warehouse Project has been a cornerstone of Manchester’s cultural scene, hosting events from Boddingtons Brewery to Depot Mayfield. It continues to be one of Europe’s premier dance venues.

Disorder Records, co-founded by David Dollimore and Tom March, saw early success with their first signing, Disclosure. Their track ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’ was named BBC Radio 1’s ‘Hottest Record,’ amassing over 20 million streams in its first month and leading to headline performances at Parklife and Glastonbury.
