Embark on a sonic journey where electronic pulses intertwine with the soulful melodies of jazz. After a decade-long hiatus, acclaimed electronic music producer Johannes Brecht reunites with his jazz ensemble for an experimental odyssey unlike any other.

“New Grass” is the latest chapter in Brecht’s musical evolution off the trio album “Disparaître” (out on June 28th), marking a departure from the forefront as he seamlessly merges with his ensemble, allowing their collective artistry to shine. Joined by longtime collaborators Antonio Farris and Matteo Capreoli, the trio embarks on a three-day jam session recorded at Berlin’s Brewery Studios, capturing the magic of their musical reunion.

The result? Nine tracks of deep electronic jazz that blur the boundaries between genres. From the techno-infused rhythms of “Call me Monday”, which is the next single before the album release, to the ethereal landscapes of “Pool” and “Equinox,” each composition is a testament to the trio’s mastery of both acoustic and electronic elements.

But “Green Grass” is more than just a musical endeavor—it’s a collaborative exploration. Featuring guest contributions from Belgian songstress Pitou, the track weaves a tapestry of sonic textures and lyrical narratives. Pitou’s raw and abstract vocals intertwine seamlessly with Brecht’s atmospheric production, creating a mood of vague tranquillity.

As Brecht surrenders to the ensemble’s collective vision, a newfound sense of freedom emerges—a freedom to explore, to experiment, and to transcend. “New Grass” is just the beginning, a catalyst for further exploration into the boundless realms of sound.

Join us on this transcendent journey, where the grass is greener and the music knows no bounds. “New Grass” by the Johannes Brecht Trio – out now.
