Berlin-based DJ and producer BEC recently announced the launch of her new record label called Embargo. The label’s debut release, titled ‘Artificial Malfunction,’ is a collaboration between BEC and Bulgarian renowned artist KiNK.
‘Artificial Malfunction’ embodies the core ideology of Embargo, which emphasizes collaboration as a catalyst for creativity. BEC and KiNK deliver an energetic, stripped-down, raw, and pure soundtrack that combines elements of D&B-inspired synths.
With her design background, BEC personally oversees every aspect of the label’s visual identity. Each Embargo release will be accompanied by unique digital art that is as important as the music.
Embargo represents a movement that aims to break free from restrictions and embrace the journey towards freedom and authenticity. The name itself holds a personal connection for BEC, resonating with individuals facing embargoes in various forms, whether literal, metaphorical, or sonic.
