London-based Italian artist TWAN, real name Antonio Marra, emerged as the winner of 2023’s Demolition production competition during the Amsterdam Dance Event week. Organized by Dave Clarke, the competition allows aspiring producers to submit their demos and receive live feedback from a panel of respected artists, A&Rs, and industry leaders.

TWAN’s self-released single, ‘Carry On,’ secured him first place in the competition. The cut is an innovative electronic dance music track that showcases bold experimentation, heartfelt melodies, intense basslines, and cutting-edge beats. The lyrics take listeners on a journey of perseverance in the face of adversity, highlighting the unyielding human spirit.

The judging panel included influential figures on the electronic music scene such as Joseph Capriati, Kölsch, The Lady Machine, Dave Clarke himself, Coco Cole, and Orly G. This competition not only celebrates up-and-coming talent but also provides a platform for artists to receive guidance from industry veterans.

In addition to his music production endeavors, TWAN boasts a successful career spanning over a decade. As a trained pianist, he has composed music for fashion brands, worked for various production companies, and even had his compositions featured in films and on Netflix.
