Scandinavian audio company Urbanista has recently announced updates to its solar-powered headphone collection, introducing improved noise-canceling capabilities and new power-efficient components.
The latest additions to the collection are the wireless in-ear Phoenix range and the wireless over-ear Los Angeles range. Both models use solar power to charge through a specially designed case. The Powerfoyle technology allows the case to charge even without direct sunlight.
Urbanista claims that the wireless earbuds provide up to 8 hours of continuous playback on a single charge, with a total of 32 hours when combined with a fully charged case. The headphones have USB-C charging, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and an IPX4 waterproof rating, making them resistant to light rain and sweat. Additionally, the over-ear options have a solar-powered band on the headband to harness the sun’s rays while in use, and the headphones can recharge using ambient indoor light.
As for new features, the latest version of the headphones now includes a 3.5mm jack for wired listening convenience and on-ear detection technology. Both models have undergone internal component updates to improve power efficiency and solar-charging capabilities.
The upgraded over-ear Los Angeles headphones are priced at $194, while the Phoenix wireless earbuds are available at a more affordable price of $97.
