Marc Romboy, a stalwart in the realm of electronic music, has navigated the ever-changing landscape of sounds and genres with unwavering dedication. From a young age, his sincere passion for electronic music set him on a trajectory that would lead to an illustrious career, marked by releases on stellar labels and a penchant for blurring the lines between genres, seamlessly transitioning from techno to neo-classical compositions. Recently, Romboy has found a home on the prolific Awesome Soundwave label, where he is set to release his first club album in 15 years, titled “Music Made For Aliens.”

The journey for the German producer, DJ, and live performer began at the age of eight when he found himself captivated by Kraftwerk’s “The Robots” in a local record store. This early exposure ignited a lifelong addiction to electronic music, propelling Romboy into the prime era of acid house and shaping his musical identity. In the early ’90s, he acquired his first instrument, the Roland TB 303 acid bass synthesizer, and embarked on a prolific journey, co-founding the successful label “Le Petit Prince” and achieving chart success with his project Marc Et Claude. As the ’90s unfolded, Romboy continued to evolve, entering the new millennium with a debut record under his own name, “Ultra Vixens,” signaling a confident and passionate entrance into the 21st century.

As the noughties unfolded, Romboy showcased his versatility, from classical trance hits on Top Of The Pops to establishing the innovative Systematic Recordings in 2004. The label became a beacon for high-quality house and techno, inspiring a generation and solidifying Romboy’s position at the forefront of the electronic music scene. Embracing the era of collaborations in the next decade, Romboy’s work with Stephan Bodzin and Ken Ishii further expanded his artistic horizons, culminating in global recognition and performances at iconic venues like Fabric, Berghain, and Boiler Room.

In recent years, Romboy’s exploration of diverse collaborations reached new heights with orchestral performances, blending electronic and classical elements with the Dortmund Philharmoniker and the Takeover! Ensemble. This venture led to the creation of neo-classical albums, “Voyage De La Planète” and “Reconstructing Debussy.” Undeterred by time, Romboy’s passion for live performances has grown stronger, as he continues to tour with solo live shows at renowned venues, showcasing his adaptability and dedication to pushing the boundaries of his sound. An essential artist then and now, Marc Romboy’s integrity and unwavering devotion to music are evident in his original and timeless contributions, earning him widespread admiration.
