They have built connections with influential figures in the industry, including Paul Van Dyk, Jerome Isma Ae, Paul Thomas, and Sebastian Kreig.

Their latest release, the ‘Felt The Fire’ EP on Black Rose label, showcases a captivating vocal performance on the title track, accompanied by a unique synth variation.

In this interview with EG, Weekend Heroes discuss their latest release, future projects, and endeavors, providing insights into their creative process and upcoming releases.

EG: Hi, guys. Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? Where are you right now?

Weekend Heroes: Hi everybody, it is our pleasure to talk to all of you! We are in the studio right now. Winter is coming and it’s even more fun to get cozy with the gear.

EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your brand new EP on Black Rose, ‘Felt The Fire’! You must be excited to finally share this one. What has the initial reception been like so far? Do you remember the first time you played these cuts live? (If you have)

Weekend Heroes: Thank you! We have been waiting for this one to be shared for a while. The crowd reaction to this tune is amazing. The first time we played it was in Thailand and it was pure fun to see the crowd dancing with their hands in the air. In all the places we played this track, the vibes and reactions were off the charts.

EG: So, what’s ‘Felt The Fire’ all about? Is there an inspirational trigger driving these two original cuts? What can your fans find here?

Weekend Heroes: ‘Felt the Fire’ is based on the lyrics and the vocals we got from a singer named Jordan Grace. It’s a very emotional and melodic track with an uplifting atmosphere. The second track, ‘Uprising,’ is more of a groover and has a more underground atmosphere.

EG: As we mentioned, ‘Felt The Fire’ is out via Black Rose. What’s your relationship with the label like? Why did you decide to go with them for this particular release?

Weekend Heroes: We really like the music direction of the label and the management. Everything is done at a high level, and the people behind the label are motivated and passionate about the music. It just feels right, and we are looking forward to the mass reaction.

EG: What’s the recording process for Weekend Heroes like? Do you have “set roles” in the studio, or does every track demand something different? How does it differ from your solo work?

Weekend Heroes: We share ideas and produce music together most of the time. Sometimes each one brings his own ideas, and we combine them together.

EG: You have been working together as Weekend Heroes for over a decade now. Did you ever think you’d make it this far as a duo? What has the road been like for you so far?

Weekend Heroes: It has been a journey! It’s amazing how you can see the world through the artist’s eyes. Traveling together is a big benefit, and stepping into so many countries on every continent has kept us going. We started in 2009, and then we had a couple of years off in the middle to concentrate on our own projects. We came back with full power in 2018, but then Covid started… So we made lots of music during the Covid times and came back full power in 2021 with many releases. We are positive, motivated, and excited for the near future.

EG: Now, speaking about current trends in our scene… How do you feel about the rise of these huge LED screens and cinematic visuals? Do they enhance the narrative, or are they just taking too much attention away from the music?

Weekend Heroes: The technology and visuals are a great add-on for the shows and for those who want to enjoy the music only, there are always all the streaming services available.

EG: The incorporation of AI in electronic music seems to be on the rise, whether it is in the music, the album covers, and beyond. Do you have a particular stance on this?

Weekend Heroes: AI is a cool way to add to the artworks and videos if it’s done in the proper way.

“It has been a journey!”

EG: Finally, can you provide some insights into what’s next for Weekend Heroes? What’s in store for 2024? Where can your fans catch you next?

Weekend Heroes: We are very excited for 2024. There are many great releases and collaborations on great labels coming. We will keep the information for now to get the fans keen to know more soon. But definitely worth waiting for new Weekend Heroes stuff in 2024!

EG: Thank you so much for your time, guys! We wish you all the best for the future. Take care!

Weekend Heroes: Big respect and thank you for having us at EG.
