Hernan Cattaneo and the multi-instrumentalist Verlk present a remarkable release filled with emotion and history. The remix of ‘En la Ciudad de la Furia,’ one of the most iconic songs in Spanish rock by the legendary Argentine band Soda Stereo, pays homage to the city of Buenos Aires.
Hernan Cattaneo shared his thoughts on the project: ‘In recent years, I have created electronic edits of Gustavo Cerati’s songs to close my shows in Argentina, and they were very well received. My friend Verlk and I had been discussing remixing ‘En la Ciudad de la Furia’ for a while, as it was one of our favorite songs by Soda Stereo. When the shows at Ciudad Universitaria were finally announced, we knew it was the perfect opportunity to showcase this remix. We started the project to close Sunsetstrip Buenos Aires with our version. It was an incredibly exciting experience to witness that moment with Soda Stereo, the massive screens lighting up from end to end, and the audience filled with surprise and emotion. It is an honor and a privilege to release this edit now and share it with all of you.’
Verlk expresses his excitement about this version stating, ‘The first concert I attended was the presentation of the album ‘Dynamo en Obras,’ with a young Babasónicos as the opening act. To be part of an official remix of Soda Stereo 30 years later is not only a great honor but also an emotionally significant convergence.’
Also, the Argentine DJ has confirmed the 4th edition of Sunsetstrip Buenos Aires to be held on March 2nd and 3rd, 2024 at Ciudad Universitaria, featuring a new and improved concept. Tickets for the event will go on sale starting from November 2nd, 2023. Grab yours here.
