Community rallies in support.

Chicago-based DJ, producer, and performer Rodney Donovan Taylor, also known as Don Crescendo, tragically passed away at the age of 28.
According to reports from Block Club Chicago, Taylor and his neighbor, James Traven, were fatally stabbed in their apartment block on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. While Traven was pronounced dead at the scene, Taylor succumbed to his injuries three days later in the hospital. The case is currently under investigation.
This loss has generated an overwhelming amount of support from the community. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist with the funeral expenses, and it has already raised over US$50,000. The campaign honors Taylor as an “unforgettable and talented friend,” a “loving oldest son,” and someone who made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Additionally, a celebration of Taylor’s life was held at Chicago’s Hollywood Beach earlier this week.
