British singer-songwriter Romy, who is best known as a member of the indie pop band The xx, has just released her debut solo album entitled ‘Mid Air’.
The LP celebrates love, grief, relationships, identity, and sexuality, and pays homage to the queer clubs that provided a sense of community and connection for Romy during a difficult time in her life.
On the album, the artist worked with producers Fred again.. and Stuart Price, showcasing her versatility. Her bandmate Jamie xx also contributed to the record’s recent single ‘Enjoy Your Life’. ‘Mid Air’ includes the previous single ‘Strong’ and is described by her as “emotional music to dance to”, combining elements of club classics with classic songwriting.
